Why Artest's Signing With The Lakers Was Solid.

Well hello friends,

This is my first blog post, so I'm pretty excited about it, I figured that blogging is a hellva lot funnier then trying to wrap my head around the 16 subjects that will be tested on the California bar (more on that later.) So anyhow during one of my soon to be famous procrastination moments. I happened to come across the article written by Marcel Mansour, regarding my beloved lakers and the signing of Ron Artest.

The article was well written and brought up some good pro's and con's of the deal. But here is the 411, I'm not a sports writer so I'm just gonna be you a life long fans take on the deal.

I think that it was great!, and for one reason and one reason only, it mitigated the damage caused by the departure of Trevor Ariza. Lets be honest Trevor provided us with all the intangibles, he played defense, hustled, did not question his role and most importantly he stayed out of Kobe's way, he didn't try to do to much and knew that it was his job to find the open spot on the floor and hit the wide open shots that he was going to get complements of number 24.

However the Lakers got bit in the rear by good old David Lee, filling Trevor's head with all types of non-sense about he's is the man and deserves to be paid like one...News flash dude, you were a journeymen in the league and sure you got a hellva lot of talent and a great work ethic, but lets not kid ourselves big guy you haven't done a hellva lot in this league to be demanding $7mill a year. And please please!, for the love of all things that are good and holy, DO NOT tell me it wasn't about the money and it was about respect. It was all about money and as far as respect goes, Mitch was offering you the full mid-level exception, if you think respect is shown by having Mitch bend over an offer more money than you are truly worth...sorry big guy you got another thing common, you gotta remember who your dealing with. The guy is a bball wizard, I mean how else do you describe the Pau Gasol trade...

Anyway I'm done ranting and raving, also fyi. Bill Simmons is an cry baby and needs to end that hate crush he has on Kobe.

Till Next Time
