Knicks don't sign Williams, who's now free agent

Veteran point guard Jason Williams became an unrestricted free agent Friday, when the NBA's other 29 teams were notified that the New York Knicks did not make a formal contract offer after obtaining exclusive negotiating rights with Williams.
Williams' agent, Dan Tobin, had said Tuesday that he anticipated talks continuing with the Knicks beyond the five business days that New York held exclusive rights, which the Knicks obtained by claiming Williams off waivers last week.
I'm thinking the Celtics should take a stab at him. He would be a solid backup to Rajon Rando. He has championship experiance so he'll fit in with all those vets, plus he'll spread the floor and you don't have to worry about him trying to look for his shot.......no need to thank me Danny Anige.

Luckily for Bostonians, you're not the GM of the C's...
1) Championship experience isn't needed for a veteran team like this, one where 80-90% of the players have a ring. Rondo will be handling the ball during clutch situations anyways.
2) Don't really need a PG who can exclusively spread the floor as the second unit he'll be playing with (House, Jesus/Pierce, Baby, 'Sheed) can all spread the floor. White Chocolate is a career 33% 3 point shooter; expect him to be worst as he hasn't played in over a year. Almost all PGs can shoot such a shitty percentage, including Starbury. And since House, Big Baby and 'Sheed won't clog up the middle, the C's need a PG who can penetrate into the lane and finish or dish out. Another reason why Starbury would be such a good fit for this second unit.
BRING BACK STAR!
