The casino filed a lawsuit in Clark County, Nev., alleging the NFL running back amassed the debt by signing six negotiable gaming debt instruments at the casino on June 26 and 27, 2008, the Las Vegas Sun said Thursday.

The casino-hotel said three of the check-like instruments were for $3,000 each, while the remaining IOUs were for $1,000, $4,000 and $6,000.

Mirage officials allege in the Clark County District Court lawsuit the six check-like payments were rejected for either insufficient funds or problems locating a related account.

The casino said Jordan has not paid anything on the $20,000 debt, which is accruing 18 percent interest a year.

Jordan, who previously played for the Oakland Raiders, New England Patriots and the New York Jets, offered no comment on the Clark County District Court suit.
